Many people use motorcycles as a preferred mode of transportation in Florida, as they do in other states. While motorcycles can be enjoyable to ride, they are also vulnerable to being involved in serious motor vehicle crashes. In many cases, riders are thrown from the motorcycle during a collision, which can cause fatal injuries. Sadly, a young man was recently killed in an accident after crashing his motorcycle and the other driver involved has not yet been found.

How the accident happened

According to police, an 18-year-old man was riding his motorcycle in Orange County, just after 10 p.m. He was traveling on Apopka Boulevard when another driver failed to yield when turning left onto Tilden Avenue. This resulted in a collision that threw the motorcyclist off his bike. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

There were no witnesses to the crash, leaving many questions about what happened. The other driver left the scene of the accident and police are still looking for them in hopes to better understand what happened. If the driver is found, they may face charges related to leaving the scene of an accident.

Where to turn for help when an accident occurs

Many motorcycle riders are killed every year due to the negligence of other drivers. When a family loses a loved one in a motorcycle accident, they may understandably want to seek justice for their deceased loved one through financial compensation that can cover expenses related to the crash. Florida families can pursue this by filing a civil case against the negligent driver.
